The Senior Systems Analyst I is responsible for supporting, troubleshooting, planning, developing, implementing, and improving Kaplan’s business systems applications. He/she works with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, business analysts, tech operations teams, and vendor support teams to provide advanced software support, analysis, and development. They also ensure systems are functioning at optimal performance and projects are successfully implemented. Duties also include application administration, SQL coding, and application testing.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform analysis and advanced support/troubleshooting for reported issues on business systems applications.
  • Write SQL scripts to fix complicated data issues in production systems.
  • Write and modify SQL stored procedures, views, triggers, and functions.
  • Write data extract scripts.
  • Perform performance tuning of long running SQL code, reports, or scripts.
  • Identify and document application defects and enhancements.
  • Test and validate resolutions of defects/enhancements and document test results.
  • Execute Business Requirement Documents(BRDs) and Functional Requirement Documents(FRDs) to implement new projects within the business systems applications.
  • Participate in testing of new software releases, system maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Support business user acceptance testing.
  • Work with business stakeholders and understand their needs to translate them into technical requirements and solutions.
  • Prepare code deployments through standardized change management processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Engineering)
  • 6+ years of experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Understanding of Microsoft T-SQL and database principals
  • Microsoft T-SQL
  • Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
  • Microsoft SQL Profiler
  • Ability to write operational and application documentation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in higher education
  • Knowledge of Anthology Student or other SIS systems
  • Knowledge of Brightspace or other LMS systems
  • Experience with back office applications
  • Microsoft SQL Server Integration Studio (SSIS)
  • Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
  • Crystal Reports development and maintenance.
  • SSIS package development and maintenance.

For full-time positions, Kaplan has two Salary Grades. This position is Salary Grade B: $64,000 - $100,000. The specific compensation offered will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, education, skills, and market data.
