This State Compensatory Education (SCE) funded position oversees implementation of SCE programs across all Stride Texas schools to ensure at-risk and educationally disadvantaged students receive appropriate supplemental services in a manner that is compliant with all state and federal regulations as well as district requirements. The primary focus of this role is to work collaboratively with multiple departments and stakeholders to implement effective educational strategies that boost student performance ensuring that at-risk students receive the necessary support to achieve academic success.
This is a full-time REMOTE position. Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 8am-5pm central time or as defined by the school.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.
• Meet with vendors for potential programs and responsible for identifying appropriate programs or materials that are reasonable and necessary for the SCE program.
• Participate in Comprehensive Needs Assessment (CNA) and Campus Improvement Plan (CIP) processes.
• Complete yearly program evaluation across all schools and present evaluations to necessary stakeholders.
• Accountable for Compensatory Education budgets and providing updates to necessary stakeholders to ensure funding is tracked and appropriately spent.
• Ensure alignment of SCE programs with CIP.
• Complete evaluations of assigned staff as part of program effectiveness review.
• Ensure implementation of SCE programs, such as intervention curriculum programs.
• Attend conferences or other professional development as required in order to stay up to date with SCE funding spending rules. Ensure updated policies are implemented across all schools.
• Collaborate with the Texas School Leadership team in making decisions regarding staff tasks and job duties, and other related topics.
• Provide training and support to staff including SCE rules, appropriate use of program/positions/materials and best practices in compensatory education.
THIS POSITION MAY PERFORM OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED IN ALIGNMENT WITH THE SCE PROGRAM. DUTIES THIS POSITION MAY NOT PERFORM:
• Duties related to testing, such as test administration.
• Perform legislatively mandated duties or activities that are specifically allocated to a regular education position, such as acting as a campus principal.
• Participate in activities or perform duties that would supplement anything other than the regular education program, such as parent/family liaison.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises 2-10 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) regular employees and/or contractors including other managers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field AND
• Eight (8) years of experience including three (3) years of experience managing teams AND
• Experience in monitoring State Compensatory Education fund spending or similar federal fund spending OR
• Equivalent combination of education and experience
Certificates and Licenses: Valid Texas Teaching Certification
OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Demonstrate exceptional leadership skills by effectively guiding teams, fostering collaboration, and driving organizational success through strategic vision and decisive action
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to project manage, adhere to timelines and due dates, and organize data effectively
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Comprehensive knowledge of Texas reporting structure and laws regarding state funding
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint,); Web proficiency; Proficiency using a student information system and/or similar type of database software
• Ability to travel 20% of the time, as required for training, school-wide professional development and as needed basis
• Ability to clear required background check
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master's in educational leadership, principal certification, or like leadership experience
