Job Description
The Manager of Evaluation manages the evaluation practices, processes, initiatives, and operations of designated content areas that support university and department goals and objectives. The Evaluation Manager oversees employees who are committed to excellence in evaluating students’ competencies while providing personalized evaluation at scale. This role ensures their team achieves service level agreements (SLA) and goals through coaching opportunities and monitoring metrics and KPIs. This role over sees the academic performance of performance assessments and fosters a continuous improvement environment by identifying system and process improvement opportunities, partnering with stakeholders across the organization to implement efficient solutions, and by monitoring improvement opportunities within courses to enhance student success.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with department, school, and college leadership to implement strategies and procedures that enhance evaluation processes and support students.
Oversees a team of supervisors and employees, which includes hiring, training, developing, mentoring, managing performance, and setting goals that support department objectives.
Manage the development and implementation of on-going training that ensures employees are calibrated in providing accurate, fair, helpful, and quick feedback on student competency.
Monitor workload and volume to ensure their team stays within the service level agreements and adjust staffing levels as needed.
Participate in root cause analyses to identify process concerns, identify and implement continuous improvement solutions across functional teams.
Monitor, coach, and train individuals and team to ensure the quality of feedback through observation reviews within the schools and colleges.
Partner with schools and colleges in the program development process and ensure course content and evaluation processes align with new and revised degree programs and courses.
Ensure teams are adequately staffed and trained to evaluate the new programs and courses.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
Master's Degree or other advanced degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or relevant leadership
Three (3) years of related work experience in the content area relevant to the role
Three (3) years of related work experience in a leadership capacity
Experience leading a remote team
Preferred Qualifications:
Terminal Degree in the content area relevant to the role or Leadership
WGU Evaluation experience
Experience in evaluation processes, competency-based education in an online environment, and experience supporting underserved populations
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
Additional Requirements:
Works primarily remote within the continental United States but is available to travel to meetings as required
Ability to work night and weekends
This position requires occasional travel of up to 20%, including required attendance at designated company summits (typically one to two per year). Additional travel may include conferences, visits to company locations, and other business-related events as needed. Additional travel may be assigned as needed to support business requirements
