Job Description
Develops and maintains dynamic student community programs that creates a safe space for prospective students, current students, and alumni that encourages relationship building and networking for their professional success. Responsible for organizing faculty volunteers and club advisors to form a student community team as they connect with prospective, active, and former WGU students. Coordinates with Volunteers and club advisors who provide input. Responsible for managing community-building initiatives which impact student success and improve the student experience.
What You’ll Do
Lead the vision, strategy, and execution of student community programs, clubs, and engagement initiatives.
Build and support a network of faculty volunteers and club advisors to strengthen student connections across the lifecycle.
Partner cross-functionally with communications, PR, enrollment, academic teams, and other stakeholders to enhance community participation.
Develop and maintain processes, policies, and programs that improve student experience and operational efficiency.
Monitor and moderate online community spaces, ensuring an inclusive, engaging, and high-quality environment.
Analyze engagement and student success metrics, including retention and graduation trends, and report insights to leadership.
Plan and execute virtual and in-person community events that increase engagement and brand awareness.
Work Location/Schedule: This is a full-time, U.S.-based remote role with standard business hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday) in the employee’s local time zone.
What You’ll Bring (Minimum Requirements):
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Information Technology or a related discipline.
Two (2) years of experience leading a student community with user engagement, project management, and multiple social platforms.
Experience reporting and managing data using reporting platforms such as Salesforce, Tableau or Power BI.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills with excellent writing ability
Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment with a results-driven mindset
Experience building or supporting student or community engagement programs such as forums, ambassador programs, or clubs
Bonus Points (Preferred Qualifications):
Master’s degree in a related field
Experience leading initiatives that promote engagement, retention, and success among underserved student populations, including first-generation, community college, and TRIO students.
Experience supporting students in an online learning environment.
Experience with UX design
Project management experience and ability to lead cross-functional initiatives
