Job Description

Responsible for the development, implementation, and execution of comprehensive licensure and board certification preparation initiatives designed to support healthcare program students and graduates in successfully passing licensure and board certification examinations. This role leverages data-driven strategies, academic coaching, and collaborative partnerships with faculty to enhance student outcomes and ensure alignment with university and regulatory standards.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provides individualized and group coaching sessions to assess student learning gaps and develop targeted licensure and board certification exam preparation plans.
  • Delivers academic support and post-graduation counseling to assist students in navigating the licensure and board certification exam process.
  • Teaches test-taking strategies and clinical reasoning techniques, including structured methodologies to strengthen student performance and confidence.
  • Designs, implements, and maintains licensure and board certification exam review workshops, seminars, and supplemental instructional materials.
  • Integrates licensure and board certification preparation strategies into curriculum in collaboration with faculty.
  • Participates in new student orientation and support instructional delivery within core courses.
  • Monitors, analyzes, and reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to student achievement and licensure exam and board certification readiness.
  • Utilizes platforms such as Power BI and performance dashboards to track student progress, cohort outcomes, and content mastery.
  • Identifies at-risk students through data analysis and initiate timely, evidence-based interventions.
  • Leads and participates in weekly at-risk student meetings to identify, monitor, document, and support students requiring additional assistance.
  • Maintains accurate, real-time documentation of student interactions, coaching sessions, and seminar attendance in designated systems.
  • Oversees and coordinates all licensure and board certification exam preparation initiatives, including scheduling and implementation of live reviews, and test-taking seminars.
  • Ensures alignment of preparation initiatives with faculty to support the integration of licensure and board certification exam preparation strategies and resources into coursework.
  • Provides training, in-services, and ongoing support related to tools and policies.
  • Promotes peer-to-peer engagement and utilization of best practices.
  • Reconciles official licensure and board certification exam results with external organizations and conducts detailed analyses of unsuccessful candidates to inform program improvements.
  • Analyzes performance reports to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Presents actionable insights and recommendations to leadership and faculty to enhance student success outcomes.
  • Drives continuous improvement through proactive use of data and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Clinical Knowledge: Expertise in medical-surgical, psychiatric, maternal/newborn, and pediatric nursing.
  • Communication: Strong ability to coach, mentor, and teach students with varying learning needs.
  • Data Proficiency: Ability to utilize data to track student progress.
  • Critical Thinking: Expert-level knowledge of licensure and board certification exam-style questions, including identifying "best" answers among multiple correct choices.

Education

  • Master’s degree in Nursing or Healthcare
  • Active, unencumbered license in designated state

Experience

  • Two years of experience in higher education.
  • Experience with remediation and tutoring in licensure and board certification examinations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the current healthcare licensure and board certification test plans

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctorate, or terminal degree in a specific content area.
  • Certification: education certification, Nurse Professional Development (NPD) certification, CNE (Certified Nurse Educator) certification
  • Expertise: Experience in test construction, student remediation, or content review.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Travel:

This position requires occasional travel of up to 20%, including required attendance at designated company summits (typically one to two per year). Additional travel may include conferences, visits to company locations, and other business-related events as needed. Additional travel may be assigned as needed to support business requirements.
