    Responsible to: Principal

    Requirements: Teaching Certification with extensive classroom experience preferred

    The Virtual Education Teacher shall:

    • Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills among peers, supervisors, students, and parents.
    • Demonstrate deep knowledge and understanding of the Google platform, all the digital resources used in the school, and competency of internet and web related technologies.
    • Assist students and parents with technical support requests relating to the course interface and student information system.
    • Build a high-quality, personalized digital curriculum.  Demonstrate proficiency in planning developmentally appropriate, research based online instruction that addresses Kentucky's learning goals and outcomes for students.
    • Create and maintain an engaging virtual learning climate.
    • Implement board policies, administrative regulations, school rules governing student life and conduct and develop reasonable rules for virtual classroom behavior.
    • Coordinate the implementation of social emotional learning and actively connect students with the in-person student body.
    • Monitor and track students' attendance and participation in learning.
    • Evaluate and communicate students' academic progress.
    • Aid in the administration of group standardized tests in accordance with the district or state regulations.
    • Foster and initiate frequent two-way communication between the school and students and parents.
    • Identifystudent needs and collaborate with other professional staff members in assessing pupil health, attitude and learning problems. Facilitate student and family acquisition of school and community resources.
    • Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, and materials.
    • Maintain accurate, complete and correct records as required by law and district policy.
    • Perform professional responsibilities and duties as outlined in Board policy, such as regular attendance, punctuality, attending staff meetings, serving on committees, and accept a share of responsibility for extracurricular activities, professional development, and professional growth.
    • Perform any other such duties as designated by the immediate supervisor/principal.
