About Pearson

Learning is the most powerful force for change in the world. Pearson employees deliver our products and services in nearly 200 countries, all working towards a common purpose – to help everyone people live the life they imagine through learning. We combine world-class educational content and assessment, powered by services and technology, to enable more effective teaching and personalised learning at scale. We believe that wherever learning flourishes so do people.

The team and how you’ll make an impact

  • You’ll join Group Strategy, working across Pearson’s portfolio and partnering closely with adjacent teams under the remit of the Chief Strategy Officer, to translate market insight into decisions that accelerate growth.
  • Projects often span multiple business units, giving a unique platform at the centre of Pearsons overall strategy.

What you’ll do

  • Lead end‑to‑end strategic workstreams: frame the problem, build fact bases, size markets, and synthesize options aligned to Pearson’s strategy pillars and growth vectors.
  • Utilise market and competitive intelligence to inform choices across our five business units.
  • Develop evidence‑based business cases: model financial and operational impacts; define assumptions, risks, and KPIs; and recommend paths that advance core performance and execution synergies.
  • Partner with product, commercial, finance, and, where relevant, corporate development on strategic initiatives, including opportunities that leverage Pearson’s AI‑enabled learning and skills solutions.
  • Turn strategy into action: craft executive‑ready narratives and materials, support planning cadences, and track progress against strategic targets and KPIs.
  • Share playbooks, methods, and templates.

What you’ll bring

  • 2+ years in strategy consulting or in‑house corporate/business strategy with a strong analytical foundation and a record of turning analysis into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Strength in market/competitor analysis, financial modelling, and business case development; comfort operating across ambiguous problem spaces.
  • Excellent communication skills (slides, memos, and verbal storytelling) and stakeholder influence; high proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Nice to have: exposure to partnerships, M&A/diligence, or portfolio strategy; familiarity with AI‑enabled edtech or skills/credential ecosystems.
