Job Description
The STAGES Sign Language Interpreter -CONTRACTOR is responsible for interpreting or transliterating all academic content to allow students who are D/HH to access instruction, communicate with other members of the school community, and participate in school-based activities. The scope of services and supports provided by the Educational Interpreter will be determined by the students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). The Educational Interpreter serves as a collaborative member of a team that supports students identified as D/HH in a virtual academic environment and are fluent in American Sign Language (ASL). The Sign Language Interpreter- Contractor may be asked to obtain licensure in multiple states and serve students across multiple schools.This is an Independent Consultant position (1099).

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 1 year experience interpreting in educational environment and
Minimum 1 year experience providing interpreting services virtually
Certificates and Licenses:
National Interpreter Certification issued by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf and/or
State specific educational interpreter licensure
