As a member of the Measurement & Learning Product Management team, within Pearson’s School Assessment organization, the Product Specialist serves as a critical bridge between Product Management, Professional Learning, Product Support, and Partner Success.

This role combines responsibilities traditionally associated with product enablement and product management. Product Specialists are recognized as subject matter experts in assigned PALS products and are responsible for translating product capabilities into clear, scalable training, support, and go-to-market assets. They also play an active role in product discovery and delivery by gathering requirements, facilitating design discussions, documenting workflows, and helping shape solutions that address educator and district needs.

Working closely with senior-level Product Managers, Product Specialists help ensure products are well understood, effectively adopted, and continuously improved. The Product Specialist helps bring roadmap strategies to life through customer insight, requirements definition, product documentation, and enablement. This role is for someone who:

  • Enjoys translating complex ideas into clear, actionable content and requirements
  • Thrives at collaborating across product, design, engineering, marketing, and training teams
  • Can facilitate discussions, gather input, and drive clarity from ambiguity
  • Is passionate about helping educators and students succeed
  • Wants to grow product management, voice of customer research, and enablement skills simultaneously
  • Takes initiative and can independently drive projects to completion

  • Ability to translate customer needs into product requirements and recommendations
  • Comfortable facilitating conversations that uncover root causes and clarify requirements
  • Ability to balance customer needs, business goals, and technical constraints

Product Communication & Documentation

  • Ability to create clear requirements, workflows, and training materials
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Skilled at tailoring content for different audiences

Product Expertise & Customer Understanding

  • Develop deep expertise in assigned products, workflows, and use cases
  • Understand educator, administrator, and district perspectives
  • Serve as a trusted resource across functional teams

Execution & Collaboration

  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Experience working across cross-functional teams
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3–5+ years of experience in educational technology, assessment, professional learning, product support, curriculum development, or related fields
  • Experience creating training, professional learning, support materials, or customer-facing content
  • Experience gathering requirements, documenting workflows, or supporting product development efforts

Preferred

  • Experience with K-12 assessment, MTSS, formative assessment, interim assessment, or behavioral solutions
  • Experience participating in Agile product development environments
  • Familiarity with product management tools and practices
  • Understanding of district purchasing and implementation needs

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York State, New York City, Vermont, Washington State, and Washington DC laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:

The minimum full-time salary range is between $75,000 - $90,000.
