Required Skills/Qualities
Strong curriculum literacy and diagnostic ability
Able to assess students from your local market and key global curricula (e.g. IB, AP, and others) and quickly identify gaps in maths, English, verbal or non-verbal reasoning.
Experience in roadmapping and strategically planning academic improvements
Track record of building and executing study, learning, or revision plans to improve students’ academic performance.
Solid working knowledge of at least one age-appropriate standardized exam in local market
Familiarity with one or more, with the ability and willingness to learn others quickly through training and practice.
Structured yet flexible teaching approach
Confident in building clear, exam-focused study plans while adapting pacing and methods to different learning profiles and confidence levels.
Warm, calm or engaging, and confidence-building presence
Engaging and reassuring with younger students; skilled at reducing exam anxiety while maintaining high expectations.
Clear-minded communication with parents
Able to interpret parents’ needs, questions, and concerns; and to explain exam formats, progress, and realistic outcomes, partnering constructively with parents to manage pressure, uncertainty, or high expectations.
Professional judgement and reliability
Understands the stakes of selective school or university entry, maintains discretion, consistency, and strong follow-through throughout the admissions cycle
Supporting Skills
Professional, sensitive communicator with students, parents, and colleagues
Strong attention to detail across lesson planning, materials, and feedback
Calm and adaptable in high-pressure, deadline-driven situations
