About the Teacher Apprenticeship Network
The Teacher Apprenticeship Network (TAN) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to
strengthening and diversifying New Jersey’s teacher workforce through registered teacher
apprenticeships. We work at the intersection of education and workforce development to expand
access to high-quality, debt-free pathways into teaching.
About the Role
We’re hiring a Recruitment Partner to lead and manage candidate recruitment for our
expanding apprenticeship program in New Jersey. This role is ideal for someone passionate
about educational equity, with experience in hiring, recruiting, or workforce
development—particularly in K–12 settings.
TAN is open to structuring this opportunity as:
● A contract role (25–30 hrs/month for 6 months)
● A full-time hire (for candidates seeking longer-term employment)
● A contract-to-hire pathway, based on performance and funding
Key Responsibilities
● Design and execute TAN’s apprentice recruitment strategy
● Partner with school districts to identify hiring priorities and guide candidate placement
● Oversee the full application cycle from review to selection and onboarding
● Support targeted outreach campaigns to attract diverse, mission-aligned candidates
● Coordinate with HR and program teams to ensure a smooth candidate experience
● Track and report on recruitment data and placement outcomes

What We’re Looking For
● 3+ years of experience in talent recruitment, HR, workforce development, or educator
preparation
● Knowledge of NJ school district HR systems or teacher certification pathways (preferred)
● Excellent communication, coordination, and relationship-building skills
● Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams
● Experience with applicant tracking systems or CRM tools a plus
● New Jersey residency or deep knowledge of the NJ education landscape (preferred)
