Praxis Content Specialist

Part-time (~5-10 hours per week), contract praxis coach

Location: Virtual ~4 hours per week

Compensation: $2,400 per 6 week session

Contract Duration: March 2025 - June 2025, with potential for extension

The Teacher Apprenticeship Network is a 501c3 nonprofit organization committed to strengthening and diversifying the teacher pipeline by expanding the number of certified teachers prepared through high-quality registered teacher apprenticeships. We support the development and implementation of registered teacher apprenticeships to meet state and local staffing needs. 

Job Description: 

A key component of the apprenticeship is support for those who are struggling to pass required Praxis tests. We are looking for experienced educators with deep content knowledge to support apprentice teachers in the following content areas: 

• English/Language Arts (7-12) *Immediate Start*
• PreK-3
• Elementary (K-6)
• Math (7-12)

The Praxis preparation courses run for 6 weeks and meet twice per week for 2 hours per session. 

Praxis Content Specialists will be expected to perform the following duties: 

• Develop scope and sequence for virtual instruction 
• Provide academic support and content tutoring in large and small groups
• Track data for apprentices’ progress and tailor instruction accordingly

Experience:

• Experience teaching test taking strategies & time management
• Expertise with instructional support and tutoring in Praxis Core Reading, Math, and Writing (or similar exams)
• Content expertise in either middle/high school english language arts, math, science, or social studies 
• Experience supporting aspiring teachers in an authentic, collaborative way
• Experience supporting adult learners 
• Data management and reporting experience

Qualifications:
