IT Support & Security Fundamentals Instructional Assistant

In this role, you will assist in delivering technical training to prepare students for entry- to mid-level IT positions, helping them develop essential skills in hardware, software, networking, security, servers, virtualization, and other technical domains. You will support instructors by facilitating hands-on classroom activities, leading study groups, and monitoring student performance. This position combines teaching support, administrative tasks, and curriculum implementation in a remote, collaborative environment. You will contribute to student success by providing ongoing feedback, assisting with assessments, and ensuring adherence to program policies. The role requires adaptability, strong communication skills, and a passion for teaching technology fundamentals.

Accountabilities

• Assist instructors in delivering structured, hands-on technical training across IT domains including hardware, software, networking, security, and virtualization.
• Lead study groups and review sessions based on instructor guidance to reinforce student learning.
• Support curriculum implementation, including preparation of labs, lecture materials, and hands-on exercises.
• Monitor and document student performance, attendance, and participation using in-house Learning Management Systems.
• Collaborate with instructors and career coaches to identify students’ challenges and implement individualized support plans.
• Ensure proper handling and return of student equipment and materials.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement of instructional practices and curriculum.

• Professional Qualifications:
• CompTIA A+ certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
• Ability to teach in an interactive, hands-on style.
• Passion for teaching and helping others succeed.
• Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes and dynamic classroom needs.
• Team-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfort lifting and handling equipment up to 50lbs.
• Preferred Experience:
• Previous teaching or instructional assistant experience.
• Knowledge of IT fundamentals, servers, virtualization, networking, operating systems, and security concepts.
