In this role, you will design and develop engaging, research-based instructional materials tailored for students with significant cognitive disabilities. You will create structured learning experiences that optimize outcomes, accessibility, and engagement while applying evidence-based instructional design principles. Collaborating closely with subject matter experts and other instructional designers, you will support content creation, develop assessments, and ensure educational resources meet academic standards. Accountabilities
· Design and iterate K-5 instructional content and learning experiences for students with significant cognitive disabilities.
· Apply instructional design guidelines, theories, and evidence-based methods to create impactful and engaging learning solutions.
· Plan the structure, scope, sequences, and design matrices of instructional materials.
· Develop assessments aligned with learning objectives to measure student outcomes accurately.
· Collaborate with internal instructional designers and subject matter experts to ensure content quality and effectiveness.
· Support the content authoring process and evaluate materials against academic and company standards.
· Create resources that address diverse learning needs, promote engagement, and incorporate Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles.
· Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, Instructional Design, or a related field.
· Experience in curriculum mapping, development, or instructional design for special education preferred.
· In-depth knowledge of state standards, including extended or alternate standards for high-need students.
· Strong understanding of curriculum design, differentiation, and evidence-based instructional practices.
· Experience creating digital content in content or learning management systems is a plus.
· Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Google Docs, and Google Sheets.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail and self-motivation.
