SUMMARY:
The Instructional Designer will develop and maintain engaging student orientation and onboarding digital content for our online Learning Management System (LMS) and online program to support students, parents/guardians, and district partners in successfully navigating our online learning environment.
- Up to 10 hours/week
- The hourly pay-rate for Instructional Designer is $35.00 per hour
INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and develop comprehensive orientation modules to place in our LMS/SIS platforms for students, staff and district partners.
- Create user-friendly instructional materials tailored to diverse audiences including students, parents/guardians, and district partners.
- Ensure content is accessible, engaging, and aligned with best practices in online learning.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify orientation needs and gather feedback.
- Maintain and update orientation materials as platform features and policies evolve.
- Apply instructional design principles and adult learning theory to create effective learning experiences.
- Ensure all materials meet accessibility standards and comply with \best practices.
- Attend mandated trainings and meetings as required.
EDUCATION / EXPRIENCE:
- Bachelorβs degree plus advanced training in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Educational Technology, or closely related field required
- Experience designing content for Learning Management Systems required
- Excellent written and visual communication skills required
- Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines required
- Experience creating orientation or onboarding content strongly preferred
- Familiarity with diverse student populations and their families strongly preferred
- Knowledge of K-12 or higher education online learning environments strongly preferred
- Proficiency with multimedia authoring tools and instructional design software strongly preferred
