Academic Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Teach 11-week live, online courses using engaging, student-centered instructional strategies.
- Foster an inclusive, supportive environment that promotes active learning and student participation.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback and respond to student inquiries within 24 hours.
- Host weekly office hours to deepen student understanding and build community.
- Work with Teaching Assistants to co-manage the course, including mentoring the TA on effective grading and student engagement practices.
- Evaluate student progress, maintain grade records, and submit mid quarter and end of quarter evaluations.
- Collaborate with peers and Campus staff to share best practices and continuously improve instruction.
- Contribute to co-curricular programming (e.g., speaker series, networking events) to enrich the student experience.
- Stay current on industry and pedagogical trends relevant to your subject area and online teaching, including the effective use of AI tools embedded in our curriculum.
Requirements:
- Masterβs degree in your subject area.
- At least 2 years of teaching experience at the college/university level.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom facilitation skills.
- Comfort with digital tools and platforms, including LMS and video conferencing.
- Proactive, reliable, and committed to high-quality online education.
- Passion for equity, access, and supporting students from diverse backgrounds.
- Available to commit 8-10 hours per week per course, with some flexibility for training.
Time Commitment:
10-12 hours per week/11-week quarter. Additional hours (max 10) for onboarding and training, as needed.
Compensation:
$5,000 per 1-2 credit course/11 week quarter
