Adjunct Faculty - BASW & MSW Social Work position (Remote)

Position Overview:

This is a fully remote position that offers flexibility in scheduling but requires adherence to course deadlines and institutional policies. Remote adjuncts must have reliable internet access and a dedicated workspace to effectively manage teaching responsibilities. This role is ideal for experienced professionals seeking to contribute to higher education while maintaining the flexibility of remote work. Applicants will be hired to teach didactic and field education courses within the BASW and MSW programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching duties, mentoring, or supervising students.
  • Delivering course content, engaging with students in discussion boards, and grading and providing detailed feedback on assignments.
  • Collaborating with faculty or staff within the social work department including timely response to department emails.
  • Utilizing specific technologies or tools (e.g., LMS, video platforms, field placement tracking software).
  • Attending required meetings, training, or development sessions.
  • If teaching field seminar, liaison with practicum agencies and supervisors on a regular basis to ensure student success in field practicum.

Location Policy:

Remote work from any of the following states – Alabama, Arizona, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s or higher degree in Social Work
  • Two years teaching experience in a university setting.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Online Teaching Experience (1 year or more)
  • Field Seminar Instruction Experience (1 year or more)
  • Experience supervising students in their field practicum and working with agency supervisors (1 year or more)
  • Preferred but not required to also have a Child Welfare Attendance (CWA) authorization
  • Experience teaching in the following areas will be given preference: clinical social work, research methods, and field practicum.

A remote adjunct work environment is a flexible, virtual setting where instructors deliver course content, engage with students, and fulfill academic responsibilities from a remote location. This environment typically relies on digital communication tools, learning management systems (LMS), and virtual collaboration platforms to facilitate teaching and interaction.

Compensation:

The following salary range reflects compensation paid for a 3-unit course (101.25 hours) and varies based on the faculty member’s course assignment (see the Adjunct Compensation Policy for details including varying credit levels): 3-unit Lecture Course: The hiring range for this position is $3456.00 to $3856.00.
