The opportunity

Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a student employee to fill the role of Virtual Tutor within the EQPD organization. As a tutor, students will work closely with students, fostering strong connections while supporting their academic success and having a growth mindset. EQPD offers a comprehensive certification program, ongoing development, and a supportive environment to help you excel in your role.

Job Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions based on our provided framework
• Build strong rapport and connections with students to facilitate effective learning
• Provide support in subjects such as reading, math and high academic mentorship
• Engage in ongoing paid professional learning opportunities
• Conduct tutoring sessions primarily in a virtual environment, requiring access to a computer and reliable internet connection

Tutoring Cycle: September 2024-June 2025, hours vary throughout the year, rolling tutor start dates

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current enrollment in classes as part of a SNHU degree program
• Work study part of financial aid package
• Students with work study may be prioritized
• Strong English language skills

Computer and Wi-Fi System Requirements:

• Access to Google Drive, Internet browser software, Email software and Zoom
• Access to a computer/tablet with a working webcam, microphone, speakers and reliable internet connection that is necessary for video conferencing

Desktop/Laptop Computer Requirements

• ​Windows or Linux or macOS: Chrome/Edge Chrome 78+, Firefox 72+, Safari 12+
• Android: chrome 78+, Safari 12+

Network Requirements:

• Internet speed of at least 5Mb/s download and 3 Mb/s upload
• You can run a speed test by searching "Internet Speed Test" on Google

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $12.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
