Responsible for managing and retaining account relationships and will evaluate new business opportunities to grow account base. Oversees account relationships for both parent and sub-accounts for the purpose of growing first time students. Accounts will be within an assigned “vertical” such as: P12 Education, business, healthcare, IT, etc. Ensures conformance with University policies and procedures, and public law.

Remote work from any of the following states – Alabama, Arizona, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin.

Recruiting in California and Massachusetts only if position job responsibilities warrant it.

NOTE: unless otherwise indicated, work hours are based on Pacific Time.

The hiring range for this position is 65k-89k annually. Offers are determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to: geographical location, knowledge, skills, years & depth of experience, and equity with internal team members.

TYPE OF SUPERVISION:

Receive general supervision from the Director of Strategic Partnerships.

  • General Supervision — indicates that the incumbent performs a variety of duties; some of which may be complex duties within established policy guidelines; and receives occasional supervision.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Outreach and Partner Development:

  • Responsible for meeting revenue and enrollment goals for each account and is responsible for the overall growth and development of those accounts.
  • Represent UMass Global as a subject matter expert for the assigned vertical. Understand industry trends and know how they affect the relationship between UMass Global and assigned accounts.
  • Support and execute strategic plan to nurture, retain, and grow local and national partnership accounts in specified industry verticals.
  • Work with Director of Strategic Partnerships of assigned vertical to create goals for new account growth, campaigns and opportunities within key accounts, and overall student enrollment.
  • Develop and employ performance measurement systems to evaluate and monitor individual performance toward goals.
  • Collect and report outcome metrics to the Director of Strategic Partnerships within the assigned vertical and the Vice Chancellor, Partnerships.
  • Travel to and meet with strategic partners off-site.

Planning and Organization:

  • Accurately maintain Salesforce database with information pertaining to assigned accounts.
  • Analyze data generated from Salesforce in order to enhance recruitment, yield strategies, and provide weekly, monthly, and session reports of actual performance versus targets
  • Establish lead generation and conversion benchmarks, in conjunction with the Director of Strategic Partnerships in the assigned vertical.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND/OR LICENSES:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to the assigned vertical is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five or more years of experience working in the assigned vertical that demonstrates industry experience in addressing problems, defining relevant issues, drawing sound conclusions, and making responsible recommendations, or sales management within the assigned vertical; to include experience in marketing, corporate outreach management, managing large customer base, results-driven sales or similar experience.
  • Proven track record of success in delivering community and vertical account management and growth.
  • Demonstrated project management experience in developing marketing and recruitment strategic plans.
  • Experience working effectively with cross-functional teams.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Effective networking and negotiation skills. Demonstrated ability selling to the C-suite (specifically Sr. HR, Superintendents, Transfer Office leadership) and developing educational partnerships with assigned vertical.
  • Knowledge of and experience with all aspects of business development and proposal development. Must be able to answer a request for proposal for client relationship development and to instruct team how to do so.
  • Knowledge of all educational/credential/licensure requirements within the assigned vertical. Must understand how requirements relate to degrees and programs at UMass Global.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and the ability to design and review dashboards to track individual and account performance.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills: listening and coaching for effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated project management experience to meet team’s goals on time and within budget.
  • Solid skill in developing an annual budget and the ability to monthly manage operating budget.
  • Exceptional oral, written, and presentation communication skills both in person and via video.
  • Strong passion for the higher education industry, including UMass Global’s mission, vision, values, products/programs, and student success.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups and individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Overnight travel is required.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in an academic environment, including exposure to and knowledge of enrollment and recruitment of new students
  • Understanding of financial aid and scholarship offerings
  • Knowledge of UMass Global University policies and procedures

Machines, Tools, Equipment, Electronic Devices and Software: Experience in using webinar software programs, Microsoft Office specifically PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook; as well as Salesforce, various Social Media platforms, project management software, SharePoint, Outlook, Self Service software programs, etc.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:

All applicants are subject to a background check and criminal history review. Working conditions are normal for an office environment. A valid driver’s license and vehicle for travel are required. This position is subject to a background check including a Motor Vehicle Report. Appropriate auto liability insurance coverage must be maintained. Requires 25% travel, such as to meetings, conferences and may include overnight travel.
