Description

Anderson Unversity Education Program seeks two part-time DTE Virtual Tutoring Site Coordinators.  The positions are part of the Advancing the Science of Reading Grant. The DTE site coordinator will monitor K-2 students during virtual tutoring sessions at partner schools. Responsibilities include setting up technology and logging into virtual tutoring spaces, picking students up from their classrooms, monitoring behavior during sessions, returning students to class, and straightening up after tutoring. The exact schedule depends on the partner school. Please email kjsample@anderson.edu for more specific information. Paid online training in Reading Ready, an early word reading program, is provided. While the site coordinator does not tutor students, training prepares you to support students during virtual tutoring sessions. Tutoring begins in late September. Site coordinators will work 3-5 hours depending on the partner school/site.

Qualifications

Qualifications for the position include;

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience working with children in community or educational settings.
  • Must be reliable and dependable.
  • Must have good communication skills with adults and children.
  • Must enjoy working with school-age children.
  • Experience motivating and monitoring children in group settings is a plus.

 Benefits:  This is a part-time, seasonal grant funded position. Site Coordinators will work 3-5 hours a week on the partner school site.T he position is not eligible for university benefits.  Pay rate is $20.00 an hour.
