PURPOSE / GENERAL DUTIES

Reporting to the Vice President of Enrollment Management with direct supervision to accomplish daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal benchmarks, the Online Admissions Counselor supports all non-traditional enrollment efforts for the university. The primary purpose of the LPU Online Admissions Counselor (OAC) is to recruit and work to enroll new students into one of the university’s online undergraduate programs, graduate programs, or partnership programs. The OAC is responsible to meet new student recruitment goals for the programs assigned to his or her portfolio. The OAC will work with assigned applicants from the point   of interest all the way through to the first week of classes. He/she is primarily responsible for inquiry follow-up, engaging with the admissions process, providing high quality customer service via phone, online, and face-to-face, traveling when assigned, and maintaining applicant communication logs to support enrollment services. This position requires applicant progress management, regular communication, implementing applicant melt prevention strategies, maintaining admissions files, and making admission recommendations to the DNAEM for admittance. The role will work closely with various members of the Admissions and other Enrollment Management teams when necessary. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Primary duties of this position include but may not be limited to the following:

  • Effectively and accurately communicate the mission, vision, and values of the university.
  • Generate inquiries, applications, and enrollment for assigned programs through recruitment activities.
  • Provide timely communication and responses throughout the admissions process, with a high emphasis on sales and customer service.
  • Travel frequently and coordinate personal travel plans to recruit prospective students at events, churches, conferences, etc. when assigned to an event. This position requires frequent year-round travel, with highest travel between September to November.
  • Be available to flex work hours to nights and weekends to meet demands of the role.
  • Speak publicly at recruiting events with clear, positive representation of the university’s offerings for students.
  • Support email marketing and social media marketing for assigned programs.
  • Complete regular (daily and weekly) phone outreach to prospective students and applicants as assigned.
  • Guide students through the admissions process, including proactive communication, processing documents, answering student questions, and ensuring student’s move through the process.
  • Collaborate with the Offices of Admissions, Marketing, Financial Aid, and the Registrar.
  • Host online webinars and events for prospective students and applicants.
  • Conduct  presentations for small and large gatherings.
  • Collaborate with the registrar to support international student enrollment.
  • Communicate with applicants regarding FAFSA acquisition, scholarship awarding, financial aid packaging, and financial settling as a part of the admissions process.
  • Maintain data within the prescribed processes.
  • Assist in the coordination and execution of the bi-yearly residencies.
  • Serve on the LPU Non-Traditional Admissions Team.
  • Provide Spiritual care for applicants as needed.
  • Complete other projects assigned by the DNAEM.
  • Actively integrate Christian faith into professional practice.
  • Model caring relationships and Christian example for students as an effective role model of a Christian life.
  • Accomplish other duties as assigned by the DNAEM.

NOTE: Though not required, this position is optionally eligible for appointment as a Foursquare minister under certain conditions. If appointed as a minister, the employee will be available to provide pastoral care and prayer. In addition, s/he may be called upon to   perform sacerdotal duties upon request of the University.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS 

Minimum requirements include:

  • A vibrant and authentic Christian faith and worldview consistent with the University’s Statement of faith which all employees are required to sign.
  • Earned bachelor’s degree. 
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in ministry, sales, customer service, or external relations is highly preferred
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students, parents, pastors, faculty, staff, &  leaders (solid interpersonal, public address, written/verbal communication skills are a must)
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and administrative skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects/deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Proficient working computer knowledge: Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel               
  • Must have a valid state driver’s license.
