Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Provide weekly coaching and support for the Success Coaches on your team through regular phone conversations and other forms of communications.

  • Make certain regular and meaningful communications are occurring between coaches and their students, to include reviewing or listening to live calls, follow up coaching, and corrective action if needed.

  • Reinforce positive results through recognition, and support teamwork and camaraderie among the team.

  • Solve escalated issues, helping students as needed and providing clear guidance for all parties involved.

  • Use reports effectively to improve student success and team productivity.

  • Provide positive leadership for changes and testing new approaches.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • May complete assignments that are technical in manner in addition to supervising others.

Job Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years specific experience which generally includes Supervisory experience.

  • Requires broad management knowledge to lead the department. Generally, has advanced level knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the University.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree preferred.

  • Experience with a sophisticated CRM system (Salesforce preferred); principles of effective leadership, motivation, and change management; principles of behavioral psychology highly desirable.

  • Experience working with adult learners in distance learning environments highly desirable.

  • 2+ years coaching or team leadership experience required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

Pay Range: $65,400.00 - $107,900.00
