As the Commercial Director, Graduate Products you will be responsible for developing and iterating the growth strategy for Kaplan to win in the business school (GMAT), graduate school (GRE), and other related customer markets. You will ensure we have deep clarity and insights on the problems we are solving for customers, the competitor set in the market, and how our products are perceived. As the leader of our go to market approach for the product line, you will work with teams across the organization to determine pricing, positioning, sales channel, and messaging and operationally prepare functions across the organization to deliver against that approach. You will ensure business and financial objectives are achieved as measured by the P&L for the product line.
Primary Responsibilities:
Growth Strategy: Develop the growth strategy for the product line in 3 year time horizons, focused specifically on the core business and potential close adjacencies. Maintain the market and competitive intelligence necessary to ensure Kaplanβs strategy is effective and communicate it to the organization.
Product Priorities: Work in close coordination with product development leadership for the segment so that successful product enhancements and new products can be launched and ultimately meet business objectives. Establish detailed planning and communication to enable success. Maintain alignment on product requirements based on input from stakeholders, customers, and data insights.
Go-To-Market: Translate product line strategy into Go To Market planning for the organization, ensuring clarity of customer segmentation, product offerings, and pricing. Coordinate and communicate with teams to ensure successful execution against sales targets.
P&L Management: Manage and analyze profit and loss for the product line. Understand individual product and market trends and make adjustments and update strategy related to these observations. Ensure the product line meets budget commitments.
Track and analyze key performance metrics (KPIs) to assess the success of product features and make data-driven decisions for future development. Manage key cost drivers for the product.
Identify data-driven recommendations that can enhance revenue performance for the product line and well as efficient cost and resource allocation. Implement these improvements for increased profitability.
Customer Focus and Operations: Serve as primary contact for the day to day operations of the product line and cross-functional partners to deliver a great experience for students and customers. Play point for escalated issues and develop resolutions for any complex customer-facing scenarios. Act as the voice of the customer.
Communication: Provide clear and concise communication regarding product updates, timelines, and challenges to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree Required, MBA Preferred
4+ years or product management or marketing experience
Product Management Expertise: Demonstrated ability to lead a product from concept to launch and beyond, while incorporating user needs and data-driven insights.
Educational Technology Knowledge: Understands the educational landscape, including relevant technologies, standards, and regulations.
Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communicator who can effectively work across departments and convey the product vision.
Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: Uses data to solve problems, make decisions, and adapt in a dynamic environment.
Financial Acumen: strong financial acumen, with an understanding of how business levers drive revenue and cost.
Leadership: Inspires teams and sets a strategic direction for product development.
Preferred experience in education technology market.

For full-time positions, Kaplan has two Salary Grades, this position is a Salary Grade B: $64,000 - $202,600. Actual compensation for this role is determined by several factors including but not limited to job level, candidate's skills, experience, and education, among other factors determined by the business.
