JOB DESCRIPTION
THUNDER ONLINE ADMISSIONS COUNSELOR

PURPOSE: To recruit students for enrollment at MCC in the Thunder Online program.

General Responsibilities:

Help fulfill the plans and goals listed in the strategic enrollment plan for the Admissions Office.
Hold primary responsibility for recruitment for the Thunder Online (TO) program
Meet recruitment goals as assigned by the Director of Admissions.
Produce enrollment reports as requested for each TO semester and/or term.
Create and understand data points for TO recruiting and admissions
Build relationships with businesses and community colleges that would help with lead generation.
Generate recruiting leads and follow through with moving prospects through the recruiting funnel.
Promote TO through internal and external marketing strategies.
Participate in the initial onboarding and advising for students entering TO.
Participate in assigned activities for recruitment for the college that may include:
On Campus activities coordinated by the Admissions Office.
Replies to calls, letters and cards received from students, churches, ministers, school counselors, or other interested individuals.
Campus Visit Days.
College Fairs.
Campus Tours.
Business, Church, and Community College Relations.
Develop social media strategy for the Thunder Online program.
Be willing to travel as required to fulfill recruitment goals.
Evaluate current practices and research new recruiting ideas to incorporate in the strategic enrollment plan.
Be an active part of the community on campus and help as needed and appropriate providing care for students.
Any other duties and responsibilities necessary to further the mission of MCC and/or advance the Admissions Office.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
The Thunder Online Admissions Counselor reports to the Director of Admissions.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong people skills and able to relate to people of all ages.
Has obtained a bachelor’s degree.
Has a proficiency in software pertinent to the role.
Ability to communicate with internal and external constituencies.
Have the necessary people skills to participate in departmental activities with customer service and work jointly with other departments.
Possess the following personal characteristics: self-motivated, integrity, high energy, enjoys a challenge, takes charge of an area and develops it to its fullest potential, creative in finding ways to get things done, and a team-player.
