This is a part-time role, 20-24 hours a week.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Acts as a steward for carrying out WGU’s mission and strategic vision by demonstrating effective and consistent commitment to learner-cantered, competency-based educational support.
- May support in monitoring the course progress of an assigned group of learners in their course(s) and proactively offer support at key points of the student journey.
- Provides expertise in assigned content area and maintains current knowledge in their field.
- Interacts with students over the phone and on webcam.
- Fosters student learning through innovative, effective teaching practices.
- Responds with urgency to meet student needs and communicates professionally and respectfully with students and all other members of the WGU community.
- Offers timely support and outreach to students, including meeting service level agreements as outlined by their department.
- Uses technology-based teaching and communication platforms to aid students in the development of competencies.
- Collaborates with other professionals within the university to promote a positive, student-obsessed atmosphere.
- Participates in all required training activities.
- Responds with urgency to changing requirements, priorities, and short deadlines.

Job Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Masters degree in related field required
- 3+ years of relevant professional business/management experience
- Demonstrated subject matter expert in job-relevant content or practice area
- Minimum of 2 years' experience teaching in higher education or providing support and instruction to adults
- Work primarily from home within the continental United States and is available to travel to meetings as required.
- Ability to work a student-friendly schedule Tuesday- Saturday, including evenings/weekends
Preferred Qualifications:
(Note – qualifications may require adjustment to meet specific department, program, and accreditation requirements)
- Doctorate or terminal degree in business related area.
- Experience with instruction or training on business data presentation and analysis for roles such as business analysts, project managers, transformation managers, or product managers
- Experience delivering business data analytics solutions such as dashboards, data extractions and summaries, data analysis, ETL processes and database management, managing online and offline datasets, or dynamic data reporting for business audiences
- Strong experience with distance education and distance learning students is preferred.
- Experience with business review and analysis of moderately complex business, operational or technical challenges that require a data evaluation of variable factors, reporting, and engagement with business audiences
- Experience utilizing data to tell a story
- Demonstrates ability to work with at-risk learners
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Works primarily remote within the continental United States but is available to travel to meetings as required.
- Ability to work a student-friendly schedule (evenings/weekends)
The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:
